Defiantly one I would recommend for next year, just as its getting freezing here pop over there to the perfect conditions with the temp at about 20c. The local triathletes and sports club could not do enough for us, ferrying us all over the place, meals and barby’s around their houses and generally making sure we were well looked after, they also got us massively reduced rates in the hotel, £35 a night per room.
Unfortunately I was unable to race in my planed Olympic distance, the dreaded man flu had knocked me about a bit, so as it was paid for we would still go and I would get a few beers in and show my support….
Anyway I got roped into doing the swim section of a sprint relay and Kay did the run section, the swim was great although my time of 15.20 was not so great. I would love to blame the conditions but it was like swimming in your bath, that is if you had a 750 meter salt water bath. Kay came in rather hot with a 29 min 5 km a few litres of water later and she stopped steaming.
The BTA were there and did a better reporting job than me http://www.tri247.com/article_4144_ChooseMalta.com+Triathlon+Championships+report.html?region_id=&category=
