James and Rachel storm the '50'

9 MSTC members did the SCCU 50 mile TT yesterday, as well as old friends like Doug Fox and Helen Bullimore. James Dear ran away with the men's event as expected - 1h55m and Rachel Baker was the fastest MSTC lady in 2.42. Loz just beat the 2hour mark, whilst of the newcomers to this type of pain, Dave Jones did 2.06, and Dave Lashbrook an exceptional 2.14, with Jon Webster 2.20. Steve Alden beat his PB with 2.18. Rob Hoodless recorded an impressive 2.08. Claire Cresswell put in another consistent performance for a hard earned 2.48. Well done to all.

3 age group victories at Ardingly

What a result for Mid Sussex Tri Club. Dave Jones finishes 5th and wins his age group. Rob Hoodless and Margaret Hollamby also win theirs. I am sure this is a first for the club. We would have won the team prize if there had been one, with James Dear 7th and Stu Nisbett 15th.

14 members completed the event with some seriously good performances. Dave Lashbrook continues his improvement and finally beat Steve Alden by a narrow margin with Jon Webster and a rapidly improving Andy Heath close behind. Well done to Callum Murray on completing his first ever tri, and also to Simon King with a strong performance.

On the ladies front it was good to see Debs back in action, but it was Rachel Baker and Margaret Hollamby who took the honours. Well done to Clare Cresswell with another gutsy performance and is improving all the time.
